Woz made his true feelings about Apple's latest smartphone known during an interview with CNN Money.
The Apple co-founder said that the firm should have released the iPhone 6 three years earlier, saying that Apple was too late to join the phablet market and gave the advantage to rival Samsung.
"Apple could have had a much bigger share of the smartphone market if it had had a larger-screen iPhone for the past three years. It could have competed better with Samsung," he added.
"Tech is like a song. You can get all the details from someone else, but you're not sure you like it until you hear it for yourself."
While he wasn't too pleased with the timing of the smartphone's release, he still owns an iPhone 6.
Woz revealed earlier this year that the iPhone 6 is the Apple smartphone that finally persuaded him to ditch his Android smartphone collection.
"I got rid of all my Androids," Woz said in a video interview with TMZ (below), praising the larger 4.7in and 5.5in screens on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.
It isn't just the iPhone 6 that has got Woz excited. He is also looking forward to the release of the Apple Watch, whenever that may be.
"I kept saying that I'd like to have a smartphone on my wrist, so I bought a few smartwatches when they first came out. I got rid of them quick. I got real negative on smartwatches," he said.
Woz added that the Apple Watch stands out in the already crowded smartwatch market.
"It's more distinctive than all the others. And who knows? It might sell well. There are a lot of wrists out there.
